Benjamin entered the tavern with a spring in his step.
"Margo is working with Kaitlyn today?" Bacchus asked.
"Yup." Benjamin grinned. "Nothing like a day off."
After eating breakfast, Benjmain asked Bacchus about Landrew.
"He's still sleeping."
Benjamin grimaced "What would have brought him here?" Benjamin had heard the story of Crossroads founding and surmised that the arrival of Landrew was not a good thing.
Bacchus smiled "His being here is not a bad omen. Relax, when he is awake he'll let us know what is happening."
As Bacchus finished those words, Margo entered the tavern. "Benjamin, Kaitlyn is being totally unreasonable."
"Let me guess, she suggested that you actually finish your assignment before you ate lunch?"
Bacchus chuckeled and walked away. There were some things he just wanted nothing to do with.

Sindatur sends out a Psionic plea to all the former members of his team in the hopes that at least some of them will return to help him in his renewed quest.
"Now we wait, boy"

He had short grey hair, and a well groomed beard. He wore a pith helmet and kakhi shorts and shirt, with well worn hiking boots. His ruddy complexion spoke of years in the sun. Perhaps that was also the reason for the strange disfocus of his eyes. At least that was what Bacchus thought when the man first approached the bar.
"Well, kind gent, what can I do for you?" Inquired Bacchus.
"What can he do for me, that's a rich one, isn't it, Nigel? Why, it reminds me just like that place we were in that time we climbed Mt. Kilamanjaro. What can he do for me?" The man dissolved into chuckles.
Bacchus had little patience for this kind of thing. The man was obviously daft, that was clear. And who was this "Nigel" he was talking to?
"Um, look, bub, I got a bar to run here. You want a drink or not?"
"Oh, a drink is it? Why of course, why didn't you say so in the first place? I'll have my usual. Isn't that what I always have, Nigel?"
Bacchus sighed. Why was it that the lunes had no problem falling through the portals? "OK, bub, I'll give you your 'usual' if you'll just tell me what it is."
The man directed his disfocused gaze in Bacchus's direction. "Oh, it's Scotch of course! What else would it be, eh? Fine drink, fine, what?"
Bacchus retrieved a glass, and poured a shot of Scotch for him. "So, what's your name, bub?"
"Eh, what? Why, I'm Basil. Always have been. You knew that, didn't you, Nigel?"

Landrew came slowly down the stairs after a rather long sleep. How long had it been? What year is it back home?
Landrew rounded the corner and sat down in front of Bacchus who had just finished serving a rather ...er...colorful fellow. So, bacchus....how the hell are you. How long HAS it been anyway? Never mind, dont answer that. You look none the less for wear, but then again you said that your constitution was quite a bit different than most men. I guess you were right.
How did you get out , my old friend?", asked Bacchus. Well, obviously someone had found the artifact that I was residing in with that intolerable fool who started this mess. But then again, this mess looks like it turned out pretty good, eh? Have they found the other artifacts?
[I]"No", was all Bachuss could reply.
Well, thats OK for now. With the artifact that I was ion now safely put in the place that the other founders created, we have a lot more time, relatively, than we did before.
Bacchus simply nodded once and turned back to bar and brought out a very, very dusty bottle of 1 malt scotch that must have been about 500 years old.
He poured a small glass, then thought twice about it and pured a LARGE glass for Landrew and himself. "My friend, we have a lot to catch up on.......

Bacchus finished his discussion with Landrew and moved to have a chat with Margo, who was still whining at Benjamin.
"....Margo, learning to read is not negotiable. It is essential and Kaitlyn was 100% correct to insist that you finish your assignment before letting you wander off. If you had just sat down and done your work, this wouldn't be an issue."
Bacchus smiled, Margo was a good kid but still a teenager who had no sense of discipline.
"Hate to interupt here folks, but Ijust used the word 'bub' multiple times in a conversation."
Benjamin laughed "You never say that."
Bacchus grimaced "I know I don't. Margo, what did you slip into my water."
Margo was giggling. "Ummmm, just a little something I whipped up. Kaitlyn gave me this book to read that was boring so I read another book and came across this one character who drank alot and said 'bub' all the time so I thought it would be funny...."
Margo's explination was interupted as Benjamins head hit the table with a very loud "THWACK"
"How many times do I have to tell you that you are not allowed to do that. Magic, whether in the form of spells or potions, should only be used in a proper fasion when you have to use it. "
Margo tried to stop giggling but couldn't.
Bacchus leaned over and placed his arm around her shoulder. "You get to help me int he kitchen for the next couple of weeks."
"WHAT? It was a joke"
Benjamin sighed "It was an inappropriate use of magic. Since Bacchus was affected, he gets to pick the punishment."

Basil hadn't appeared to be listening, his eyes wandering about the bar. But Bacchus, Benjamin and Margo suddenly focused their attention on the old gent when he suddenly burst out: "Oh, magic is it! Oh, that's rich! Magic, that's the thing, eh?" He dissolved into chuckles.
Bacchus walked over. "And just why is it any of your business, bub?" Bacchus immediately clamped his hand over his mouth and glared at Margo.
"Margo!" Benjamin was shocked. "Stop that!"
Margo looked injured. "But I didn't do it!"
Basil's chuckles intensified, until he was cackling like a mad man.

Bacchus had a feeling that this Basil character was part of the problem and not Margo.
He shock his head and decided to walk away before he said anything else weird. "Dude, this place can drive a man insane."
Benjamin giggled.

Kaitlyn came into the Inn looking for Margo.
"Margo, where are you..."
Margo, wearing a very stylish apron, hair net, and rubber gloves, popped her head out of the kitchen.
"Yes?"
Kaitlyn looked at her young charge "Why are you dressed like that? Put down that scrubber brush. Do you really thining that you could get out of your lessons by sneaking in here and helping in the kitchen...."
Kaitlyn looked puzzeled "Why are you helping out in the kitchen?" It was not a natural place for a teenager trying to get out of school work to go and hide.
Margo sighed "I kind of played a joke on Bacchus, although it didn't work the way it was suppose to because he started talking funny which the potion wasn't suppose to do..."
Deciding she heard enough Kaitlyn jumped in "Ok, ok, ok. Finish up here and then meet me at the Magic Users Guild. We have some more work to do today."

Alisha had to admit it, she was lost. Lost, lost, lost!
Oh, sure enough she had found the portal to somewhere off her planet, but where exactly? Was this the elusive Crossroads that she had heard whispers about? All she saw was trees, plants, and more trees. Not a royal palace in sight?
Or a path for that matter! *sigh* What in the world was I thinking? Here I am, goddess knows where, without a plan or a clue what to do now! *Harumph!* I guess I could just wait until the goddess shows me a sign?
It was at that moment that she heard what sounded like a wild animal tramping thru the woods.
Alisha quickly hid behind a tree, waiting to see what beast would emerge. She kept her hand on the hilt of her sword, ready at a moment?s notice to defend herself.
In taking her place however, she tripped over a branch, creating noise of her own. Silently cursing herself she hoped that her would be attacker had not heard her. But alas, the sounds of crashing had stopped and the forest was now eerily still.
The young swordmaster could hear her own heart beating as she stood there holding her breath. Deciding that turning blue and fainting would not be the wisest of ideas, she carefully drew in her breath and backed slowly and carefully away from the tree.
She had backed away about three steps when she met a solid object, not unlike another tree truck, but smaller. And it yelped, she yelped and jumped away in surprise! She turned to face another young woman who seemed to be around her own age.
?What are you doing here?? the beast?er, young woman said.
?Who are you?? Alisha replied. ?What do you want??
The woman looked at her funny, ?Did Benjamin or Kaitlyn send you to spy on me??
Alisha started laughing for no apparent reason.
The other woman?s eyes narrowed, ?What! What are you laughing at? I bet that?s it, they sent you to spy on me!?
?No?? Alisha managed to spurt out in between bouts of laughter. ?No?I?m sorry.? She held up her hand asking for a moment and managed to get her giggles under control.
?I?m very sorry. I do not know these people you speak of. I am lost. Do you live here??
The stranger just stared at her.
?I?m sorry, where are my manners. I am Alisha. Do you have a name I can call you by?? She held out her hand.
?Margo.? The woman replied and grudgingly took her hand. ?You?re sure they didn?t send you??
?Yes,? Alisha smiled.
?What were you laughing about then??
Alisha started to giggle again. ?I asked the goddess to send me some sort of sign to lead me to safety. And then you appeared.? She removed a forked stick from Margo?s hair. ?And this stick was sticking out of your head at a very strange angle, making you appear very unlike something the goddess would have sent me!? She broke into laughter again and after the connection dawned on Margo, she couldn?t help but laugh as well.
After the two women stopped laughing, Alisha said, ?I am so relieved to see you here! I wasn?t sure what I was going to do. What are you doing out here??
